Join Fashion One as we take a closer look at the Nicholas K collection for autumn/winter 2015 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. We deliver you highlights of the chic and sexy runway presentation so get ready to fall in love with the dark new creations by the brother and sister designer duo.
Inspired by the ambiance and distorted set of the 1920s film The Cabinet of Dr. Galigari combined with Victorian and steampunk influences the collection featured seductive sheer pieces amongst leathers, furs and heavily draped or layered fabrics.
Models wore aviator hats, head-wraps, leather opera gloves and circular framed sunglasses together with the garments which included slouchy jersey wrap sweaters and dresses with slanted hemlines as well as floaty rust colored silk gowns with a black dip dye finish. Cream, grey and mottled pieces included an uneven hooded poncho, drop crotch pants and wide leg trousers worn under soft floor length jackets.
Strapped belts, leather collars and buckled cuffs added structure to the array of tactile, sensual pieces showcased. The collection oozed cool, urban gothic allure whilst must-have outerwear items, such as the quilted shearling and long, oversized aviator jackets, will be welcome additions to many far less dramatic wardrobes.
