Monochrome Vamps, Polkadots and Masculinity all in a Sexy Mix at Emanuel Ungaro
Fashion One invites you to join us as we take a look at the Emanuel Ungaro show for autumn/winter 2015. We bring you highlights from the super sexy runway show as well as an exclusive interview with the designer Fausto Puglisi. First take a look behind-the-scenes as we watch the finishing touches being applied in hair and makeup, with flawless matte complexions highlighted with perfect, seductive dark cherry lips.
Puglisi talks to us about the main themes of the collection as well as his inspiration and influences. He references his Sicilian heritage and credits this as being responsible for the injection of gold into the otherwise monochromatic color scheme. He is fascinated by contrast which is apparent not only with his exploration of black, white and polka dots but also in his mix of masculinity and femininity. The designer talks about his childhood obsession with British actress Charlotte Rampling and reminisces about feeling captivated by the unexpected mix of a completely feminine but undeniably tough character.
He wanted to create a collection for strong, independent women of various sizes and ages. The collection featured sharp tailored trouser suits and jackets, full flowing skirts as well as mini skirts and pleats on mini dresses and tops. Oversized lapels and slanted hemlines echoed the diagonal pleats, stripes and panels. The cool, vampish look was completed with leather accessories combined with tilted fedora hats covering the eyes that added yet more mysterious allure.
