Barcelona based Spanish fashion label Desigual is accelerating its expansion in Europe and emerging markets as it aims to become the next Zara of high street fashion. The brand which expanded outside Europe three years ago is now targeting sales of 1 billion euro (1.4 billion USD’s) a staggering figure up from 820 million euro in 2013 and 440 million euro four years ago. Managing director Manel Jadraque said that Desigual plans to open 100 stores a year for the next three years, with bold plans to double the companies size every four years.
WeTheAdorned with Sarah Jessica Parker
American actress Sarah Jessica Parker famous for role in defining fashion drama of the 1990s Sex and The City, is to try her hand at the jewelry business curating a e-commerce platform “WeTheAdorned”. Los Angeles based jewelry designers Tim McElwee and Cyia Batten chose Sarah Jessica Parker and praised the actress’s discerning sense of taste. WeTheAdorned will be a subscription service site targeting the middle market space between high end jewelers like Tiffany and Co and lower priced sites. The designers have enlisted Pamela Love, Dannijo, Fenton and Fallon, Erickson Beamon and Lulu Frost amongst others to design exclusive pieces for the site.
Victoria Beckham's First Flagship
Former pop-star turned designer Victoria Beckham is set to her open her first flagship store in London. The 6,040 square foot retail space on the exclusive Dover Street in glamorous Mayfair has been described by the designer as her "second home". The store, designed with Iranian born architect Farshid Moussavi, is intended to be a space that while conceptual will be accommodating and inviting.
