The Hottest Red Carpet Outfits from the American Music Awards 2014

November 23rd 2014 saw the 42nd American Music Awards get underway at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Iggy Azalea was the tipped as the most successful celebrity of the night having been nominated for a grand total of six awards.

The event, broadcast on ABC and hosted by Pitbull also saw performances by 5 Seconds of Summer, Imagine Dragons, Wyclef & Magic!, Lorde and Iggy Azaela who bagged the award for favorite rap/hip-hop album as well as favorite rap/hip-hop artist. It was a night for successful female artists as we also saw Beyonce win two awards for favorite soul/RnB album and favorite soul/RnB female artist, Carrie Underwood won favorite country female artist and Katy Perry bagged 3 awards including favorite adult contemporary artist and favorite pop/rock female artist.

Pitbull was joined by various co-hosts including Jordin Sparks, Lance Bass, Gavin DeGraw, Frankie Grande and Orange is the New Black star Taryn Manning.

One Direction, unsurprisingly were the winners of the night, having won all three of the awards they were nominated for, favorite pop/rock album, favorite pop/rock Group and the coveted Artist of the Year award.

Popstars such as J-Lo, Nicky Minaj, Charli XCX, Taylor Swift, Fergie and Selena Gomez walked the red carpet joined by red carpet favorites Heidi Klum, Kendall & Kylie Jenner, Khloe Kardarshian and Jayden Smith.

The awards ceremony received a whopping 11.61 million viewers and Single of the Year was won by Katy Perry for her latest release ‘Dark Horse’ featuring Juicy J.
