Matthew McConaughey Unveils his Star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Fans were out in full force to witness Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey’s star be unveiled at the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles. His fellow actor and friend Christopher Nolan commented on just how many times Matthew has walked up and down the walk of fame in his lifetime and just how much of a big deal it is to be rewarded with this honor.

Casting director and producer Don Phillips shared his affection for Matthew before revealing the star with the help of Matthew himself. The crowds cheered as Matthew rejoiced in his own star. He then took to the microphone to state how it was such a huge privilege to work as an actor everyday and always look forward to going to work on a Monday. He then went on to share how the industry has allowed him to fulfill his dreams and given him lots of opportunities. He was joined by fellow actresses Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Mackenzie Foy on the red carpet as well as his family.

Matthew McConaughey has been in the entertainment industry for 23 years and first achieved recognition after starring in coming of age comedy Dazed & Confused in 1993. Since then he has gone on to star in a number of blockbuster films including Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Wedding Planner, Fool’s Gold, Magic Mike, The Wolf of Wall Street, Dallas Buyers Club and most recently Interstellar. Critics have dubbed his role in Interstellar as a game changer for Matthew and a chance to move permanently into more complex roles.
