Sarah Jessica Parker’s award was presented in appreciation of the outstanding contribution she has made to the fashion and beauty industry since the inception of her career.
Jil Sander’s new designer
Jil Sander, the fashion house characterized by its aggressively minimalistic and clean aesthetic, has appointed Rodolfo Paglialunga as creative director. The appointment follows the abrupt departure of the labels founder Jil Sander, leaving her house for the third time, after a period of only 18 months. Rodolfo Paglialunga, who follows in the footsteps of Raf Simons in the role, has previously acted as a womenswear design director at Prada and the creative director of French fashion brand Vionnet. The designer will make his debut for the brand for Spring/Summer 2015 at Milan Fashion Week.
Legal Trouble for Dolce & Gabbana
Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana of Italian maximalist house Dolce & Gabbana have been given a reduced, suspended sentence of 18 months following a conviction on charges for having failed to file tax declarations for a Luxembourg-based company that, according to prosecutors, was designed to evade paying taxes in Italy. The pair who have consistently denied any wrongdoing or illegality said through their lawyer they would appeal the decision.
