Spotlight on French Designer Julien Fournié



French haute couture fashion designer Julien Fournié spoke exclusively to Fashion One about his Autumn/Winter 2014/2015 collection Première Pulsion.

“It’s a collection that is very dear to my heart,” he said. “The reason is that the pretty young girls from the previous collection Premier Frisson have grown up and have become women,” he explained. “Perhaps it is because I myself have gotten older and done some growing up that I wanted to surround myself with these real women who are a little bit dangerous and bewitching.”

The first pieces from the collection are a mix of prêt-a-porter and haute couture due to a demand from clients who are buying more and more of these clothes, and also want more classic clothes designed by him.

The looks for the models in this collection are inspired by David Lynch’s heroines, and are extremely tall and graceful, elegant and a little bit icy. Dark, somber colors featured heavily in the show.

Julien Fournié also introduced accessories that were created in-house from black lacquered coral and crystals.

The hair was pulled into a sleek, low bun just above the nape of the neck to create a heaviness that was inspired by the hairstyles of geisha. The skin was left very nude for natural beauty to shine through. Protestant church the Oratoire du Louvre served as the spectacular setting for the show.
