Selfridge & Co, the chain of high end department stores in the United Kingdom, has been named the best department store in the world for the third year in a row by the Intercontinental Group of department stores, an association of international shops from 30 different countries.
Florence-based Italian luxury goods group Salvatore Ferragamo has reported a six-percent growth in revenue for its first quarter of 2014, reaching a total of 299 million euros. The Asia Pacific area was the best performing market for the company in terms of revenues, with a notable contribution from the retail section in China recording a revenue growth of over 10 percent in the first three months of the year.
English socialite and columnist Pippa Middleton, younger sister of Duchess of Kent Kate Middleton, has had a setback in her writing career with her “Sports and Social” pieces column for English newspaper The Daily Telegraph canned after a brief run of six months. A source at the paper told Us Weekly that readers simply “just weren't into it,” the deluge of negative feedback forcing the paper to let the celebrity writer go.
