Justin Bieber tweeted pictures with German designer Karl Lagerfeld alongside the caption: “Big things coming with my friend Karl Lagerfeld” sparking rumors of a future collaboration. Photos of a topless Bieber, thought to be taken in Lagerfeld’s Paris studio, also appeared online. Getting even more snap-happy is Japanese casual-wear retailer UNIQLO. The retailer’s Selfless Selfie project invites participants to take a photo of themselves, make a pledge to do some everyday good and then post their deed online.
Students at Harvard Business School will soon be able to take a course entitled “Beyoncé: The Study”. The course will focus on singer and fashion icon Beyoncé’s aptitude for strategic marketing and the business side of the music industry, and will cover topics such as the impressive media coup of her 2013 self-titled album. Similarly fusing fashion with education, designers of a 5-story retail development in China’s Wuhan seek to promote and enable sustainable living. The complex will reduce the need for residents to make long journeys by providing on-site services, as well as educating visitors about environmental concerns.
Yves Saint Laurent Paris’ creative director Hedi Slimane has made efforts to clarify that he played no part in the creative direction of new perfume Black Opium, after several press releases credited him with a role in developing the product.
