PARIS, France – British footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood launched a brand new pop-up shop at Paris' famous Galeries Lafayette department store. The 180-square-foot venue is set to run for the upcoming twelve months, WWD reports.

The shop is currently housing the designer's “Arcs of Orbit” collection, featuring floral embroideries, python leather and cutout motifs.

“Paris is a key city in our global retail strategy. Our pop-up store initiatives have allowed us to continue to develop our presence and customer connectivity in focus markets,” Nicholas Kirkwood chief executive officer Christopher Suarez said in an interview, hoping that the prestigious location will help the brand expand into other territories soon.

In September 2013, the French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton acquired a majored stake in Nicholas Kirkwood, which brought the British designer and his namesake label one step closer to becoming one of the big names in today's fashion world.

Earlier this year, Kirkwood openly talked about his brand's growth potential and revealed that he is planning to open six pop-up shops in 2014. He also stated his intention to launch non-footwear collections in the future – including a handbag collection, sunglasses, small leather goods and even jewelry.
