Sahar Elmaataoui garnered the title as the “Face of Morocco.” The competition aimed to discover tomorrow’s models. A wonderful opportunity for young Moroccan models to get noticed in front of professional agencies and excel in an international career. Here’s what the 21-year old model has to say upon winning:

“Modeling is my dream since I was a child, I was always looking for the occasion to be able to develop myself and improve my abilities.

When I heard from a friend about “Visage du Maroc” competition I didn’t think twice, I went to try my luck. I was chosen from 130 girls to go to the finale in Marrakech. I was very happy but I had to manage my time and my schedule, so I tried to stay focused on my goals which are preparing myself for the competition and studying hard.

Being in the red city was an incredible experience for me, I had the opportunity to meet with professionals (coach, photographers, international bookers, media and press, top model…) I learned a lot from those people, we had hard times because there was a lot of rehearsal fittings and photo shot sessions but I enjoyed doing it.

Before the show I tried so hard to stay calm, avoid stress, stay focused and enjoy that unique moment.

When my name was announced as the winner of the competition, I didn’t realize it and I was shocked for a while but then I felt delightful and happy because I finally achieved something that I was dreaming about years ago, I am honored to be the face of Morocco, I hope that having this position will bring new opportunities to my modeling career and will help me be a professional model.”
