Fashion One presents: Swiss Fashion Museum Celebrates 30 Years
The Musée Suisse de la Mode (Swiss Fashion Museum) in Yverdon celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and has invited French couturier Franck Sorbier to curate an exhibition exploring Switzerland's cultural heritage in fashion.
Fashion masterpieces of the 19th and 20th centuries are shown alongside more contemporary work, the collection exploring developments in fabric, technique, and taste over the years.
Not just limited to Swiss designers, the exhibition features 30 pieces running up to 1990, including work by Cristóbal Balenciaga, Pierre Balmain, Emanuel Ungaro, Jacques Griffe, and Yves Saint Laurent. Sorbier himself covers the years 2000 to 2012 with a selection of haute couture pieces he has designed and shown in Paris over the last decade.
The Patrimoine Glamour exhibition runs until November 25 during the 'Salon des Antiquaires' in Lausanne.
